Mini-lecture on current issues

For the next 10 mins, I want you to write on the following topic

i.      On page 105 you saw a list of questions that can be applied to a given argument. Select SIX of these questions and apply them to “The Oblivious Empire.” Answer them with SPECIFIC explanations.

6)      Group discussion of answers

8)      Our book also discussed various methods of addressing augments that are designed to appeal to Pathos, Ethos, or Logos.

Part Two:

Read “Protecting Freedom of Expression at Harvard” (123-25)

Individually identify examples of pathos, ethos, and logos in this essay. (10 min)

Group work on findings (5-7 mins)

Class Discussion of group findings (5-7).
