Today’s Agenda:
Over the last week, you have drafted and re-drafted paper three. Last Friday, we began the work of looking through our folders and organizing our precise and guided argument drafts.
After we organized those documents, I asked you to begin work on a writing that described how these drafts changed and improved over time. Let’s get out that document now.
I want to begin class today by using this document as a foundation for our portfolio letter
The purpose of the portfolio letter is to do the following:
- Explain to an unknown reader how you have developed or grown as a writer this semester
- Provide specific examples of that growth, and be able to articulate their importance to you
- Inform the reader on the topic of how you imagine you will use the skill you have acquired here in future courses at Husson University.
The bulk of the letter will be dedicating to describing how your writing changed over the drafting process of your three major papers: the précis, the guided argument, and your argument. While we aren’t far enough along yet with the final paper to include it in our letter at this point, we can certainly begin working on this document in class today.
Discussion of the purpose and structure of the letter
Begin the drafting of pages one and two, complete the draft for Monday, and come to class with three copies.
